Joichi Ito will oversee DG’s operations and foster a new form of collaboration between the industry and academia, in partnership with the Chiba Institute of Technology. Joichi Ito will continue to serve as the Co-Founder and Chief Architect of DG, directing the design of digital architecture utilizing next-generation technology. Through his appointment as president, Joichi Ito will contribute to the sustainable development of human resources from his respective positions in both industry and academia. Various technological innovations have emerged in recent years, digitalized society and DX are being implemented, but Japan needs more engineers and scientists. Joichi Ito has been advancing research in fields such as web3 and artificial intelligence, aiming to imagine, design, and build new technology platforms of knowledge and cultural outputs that can enhance society. In November 2021, Joichi Ito was appointed Director of the Center for Radical Transformation established at the Chiba Institute of Technology, Japan’s first antidisciplinary research facility.
